This temple has close association with Pandavas and Kurukeshtra war. It is believed that eldest of pandavas, Yudhishtira did worship to lord vishnu for winning the war against Kauravas. It is believed Yudhistira built this temple here and this place is now called Thrichittathu temple. Yudhishtira killed Aswathamma in the battle later
