Many stories are there behind this temple. When Lord Ayyappa went forest to collect
the milk of tiger ,then he reached ‘Nellimoottil padikkal’ and took rest on a rock.
Its believed that the temple is situated on that rock.
Main Festival is in the medam month in malayalam calendar. It’s a ten days celebration,which
includes the birthday of Lord Ayyappa. One of the festival starts from vrushchikam
1 to 10,including Makaravilakku. Its named as ‘chirappu’. Parayeduppu is also famous.
