Description:
The
Sree Krishna Swami temple at Ambalapuzha which is also known as "DWARAKA" is
one of the ancient temples of Kerala and in much connected with
the history of Travancore. It is needless to point out the fame
of the Ambalapuzha paalppayasam. Paalppayasam is prepared every
day in a large quantity but devotees have to book their order for
getting the paalppayasam sufficiently earlier. Paalppayasam is
being prepared according to some traditional methods and unique
in its taste and still thousands of devotees conduct this offering
and take the paalppayasa prasadam to different parts of the country.
This temple structure was built by Pooradam
Thirunal Devanarayanan, the king of Ambalapuzha (also known as
Chembakassery). He was born on A. D. 1623. The well known Ambalapuzha
Payasam is got from here and is done as the main offering.
