Description:

Parippu Sri Mahadevar Temple is situated in the heart of Parippu (used to be Bharippu) which is a small village in the district of Kottayam (Kerala, India). The main deity is Shiva, facing east. The Prathista here was installed by Lord Parasurama and this temple is one of the 108 Shiva Temples in Kerala.

There were two kings in Parippu; Madathil Raja and Edathil Raja. This Shiva Kshethra was built by Madathil Raja. Unfortunately, there were so much rivalry between the two of them . In order to make sure that they don't see each other even during their temple visits, two Balikkal Puras (Thidappalli or Traditional Frontage) were built.

Sub deities are Sree Krishna, Shaastha, Ganapathy, Bhagavathy.
