The presiding deity of this temple is durga devi in the form of
mahishasuramardhini. It is
located near Karukachal town in Kottayam distric. Around 19 kms
from kottayam, 16 kms. from Changanacherry, 8 kms from Mallappally
and
20 kms from
Ponkunnam.
This
temple is considered to be one of the famous durga temple which is "chathurbahu
prathikshta". Inside the temple Gnapathy,
Yakshi, Veerabhadran, and Lord Shiva are the sub deities. Outside
the temple, Lord Ayyappa (villali veeran), Rakshas & Nagas
are the sub deties
