Festival:

9 days festival celebrated in gand manner. Special sites to watch during festival are Kathakali and kurathiyattom. Grand procession led by five decorated tuskers takes place on the 8th day. Panchavadyam (drum play with 5 distict musical instruments) and Chendamelam (drum play).

Karthika Utsavam is also special here and lots of devotees gather to see Kathakali performance.
