'Kodiyettu' of the main celebration is in the month 'Makaram' on the day 'Makayeeram'. Its a four-day festival.

Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. In this temple the deity faces to the east side. The sub deities are Lord Vinayaka and Nagas. Also there are 'Murthi', 'Nagaraja' ,'Madan' , 'Marutha' and 'Yakshi' in the place of villagers near the temple. There was a rule that 'Kottur' family should have a right to participate in the temple administration.

There is a belief about the temple. The idol in this temple was brought by a group of brahmins. They were on the way to thiruvananthapuram for participating in the 'Murajapam'. When they put that idol on the coast of the pond , the idol had fixed there. They realized that it has power and made temple at that place.
