The festival starts on 1st Vrischikam and ends on 7th Vrischikam.

 

Importance / Main offerings:

'Raktha Pushpanjali' to Devi and 'Sreebhootha bali' to Lord Siva are the main offerings in this temple.

 

Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is believed to be Lord Ayyappa. There is another belief too. Some people believe that the deity is 'Matsya Avthar' of Lord Vishnu. Long ago, the idol was believed to be of 'Vana Sastha'.

In this temple Lord Ayyappa resides with Prabha-Sathyaka and faces to the east side. This temple situates near 'Anjarakkandi' river. 'Anjoottan' family have the right for preparing 'Kolam' in this temple. The temple is owned by four families named 'Paduvilanmel Chandroth', 'Ponmalassery Koroth', 'Peringali Arangedath' and 'Kottayil Nambiar' .
