Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. The temple is situated on the top of a hill near the village. In this temple Lord Ayyappa resides in the form of a child, faces to the west side. There is a belief that at the time of 'Ucha pooja', Sastha will turn into Lord Rama.

There is a story behind this. Once an intense devotee of Lord Rama came to this temple in the middle of the day. And he did the 'Pooja' as if its Lord Sreerama. From then there will be 'Archana' for Lord Sreerama in the time of 'Ucha Pooja'.

Its also believed that Vilwamangalam Swami had realized the power of Vishnu on the idol of Lord Ayyappa. The sub deities are Lord Siva and Lord Vinayaka. In the temple , there is a hole from which water are flowing continuously. That water is used for everything in this temple.

There is another belief about a Nair family. A thief got into that house and returned back without getting food. Its believed that the thief was Lord Ayyappa. From then they will make food and hang it outside everyday. Its an old belief.
