Description:

In ancient times, the boundary of Narayanamangalam temple was from 'Karoopadanna' to 'Kavilkadavu'. When the limits were re-measured , the temple became famous at 'Pulloott kadavu'. From then, the place became famous.

'Vettekkaren' is also a deity in this temple. Both deities have the same importance. Lord Ayyappa faces to the east. 'Nagas' are the sub deities in this temple. The idol of Lord Ayyappa is so beautiful. 'Vettekkaren' has no structure.

The temple was under the ownership of 'Kodungallur' kingdom. This kingdom was attacked many times. At last, when it was under 'Kochi' Government, then 'Thekkum koyal Narayana Thirukovil Adhikarikal' has the responsibility of this temple. Its believed that the name of the temple is formed from this name.
