Festival:

'Kuthirappooram' in the month of 'Kumbham is the main festival in this temple. Its celebrated on the day 'Bharani'. On the day of festival , the horses from 'Chittanda' , 'Kottappuram', 'Thrikkanapathiyaram', 'Mangad' and 'Kanjirakkodu' will come with grand celebration.

 

Importance / Main offerings:

'Elluthiri' is the main offering in this temple. 'Sastha Sooktha Archana' is also important for getting good education. 'Nadakkal Guruthi' is also important.

 

Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. But Bhagavathy is also there and has same importance. Lord Ayyappa faces to the east side and Bhagavathy to west. The presence of 'Rakshassu' is also in this temple. Lord Ayyappa in this temple was the dearest God of 'Mangattachan', who was the prime minister of 'Samoothiri'.

The temple is owned by 'Kannambara Nair', 'Veelkuttil Nair' , 'Thachethu Nair', 'Kandammattil Nair' and 'Parangalam Panicker'.
