Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa. In this temple the deity sits with the support of two hands in the back side. This form of Ayyappa is different from other temples. In this temple deity is considered as 'Brahmachari'.

There is a close relationship between this temple and 'Budha-Jaina' culture. This deity was believed to be the protector of 'kakkad vattakkotta'. When that fort was broken ,somebody brought the idol here and installed.

The temple was under the ownership of Avanapparambu Mana. There is an ancient 'Vishnu' temple just near this temple.
