The 'kodiyettu' of the main festival is on the day 'Uthram' of the malayalam month 'Makaram' and celebration ends after eight days.

 

Importance / Main offerings:

The main offering in this temple are 'Ada Nivedhyam' , 'Elluthiri' and 'Archana'. Also 'Uthram Oottu' has some importance. 'Niramala' in the season of 'Mandalam' is also important in this temple.

 

Description:

The presiding deity in this temple is Lord Ayyappa.In this temple the deity is facing to the west side.The temple is located near manakkodi riverside.so In the rainy season, usually the temple will be flooded(Arattu).

Its believed that inside the temple, there is a supernatural stone,which is growing. The temple was owned by 'Nambidi'. They were the rulers of 'Ayanikkur Swaroopam' , 'Punnathur Swaroopam' ,'Manakkulam Swaroopam' and 'Kakkad Swaroopam'.

There is a belief about the formation of the temple. The six 'Nambidi' families worshipped Lord Ayyappa intensely for the protection of their land. Lord Ayyappa was pleased and took an 'Avathar' at this place.

There is no sub deities in this temple except 'Nagas'.
